The 48th National Assembly released the President of the National Audit Office Tzvetan Tzvetkov

With a decision of January 20, 2023, the 48th National Assembly released the President of the National Audit Office Tzvetan Tzvetkov based on Art. 84, Item 8 and Art. 86, para. 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria and Art. 19, para. 2 of the National Audit Office Act.

As per the decision, the vice-president Goritsa Grancharova - Kozhareva has been appointed as the President of the National Audit Office until a new president is elected. Ms. Grancharova - Kozhareva was a member of the National Audit Office Board in two previous terms - 2005 - 2011 and 2014 - 2015.

Following the debates during the plenary session, Tzvetan Tzvetkov thanked the MPs for the opportunity, heading the Bulgarian NAO, to fulfill his constitutional duties with dignity, honor and professionalism together with the management of the institution and all its employees. In the past 8 years, with the entire team, we have carried out many quality audits, in accordance with the international auditing standards, he said.
